Einride plans to acquire Flipturn in stock deal
Einride AB announced a definitive all-stock deal to acquire Flipturn, a charging and energy management software provider for electric fleets, in a $38.4 million agreement that will be paid with Einride American depositary shares and may include earnouts based on milestones. The transaction, expected to close in July 2026, will significantly expand Einride’s energy under management, adding Flipturn’s 250 megawatts of charging capacity and strengthening its software layer for electric heavy-duty freight optimization. Einride emphasizes that the deal will help build North America’s largest heavy-duty EV charging ecosystem and move the company toward a fully vertically integrated electric freight technology stack, spanning charge point management, energy systems, and fleet brokerage connections to third-party networks. Saga AI, Einride’s platform for optimizing electric operations, will be used to enhance charging efficiency and energy cost management as Flipturn’s capabilities integrate with Einride’s scale. Executives from both companies described the move as a strategic acceleration of U.S. growth and customer offering, with Flipturn’s team remaining in place to support continuity for existing customers.
