President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. appointed former Albay governor Joey Salceda as secretary of the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO), marking his return to the Cabinet after two decades. Salceda previously served as presidential chief of staff in 2007 and is known for chairing key House committees on Appropriations, Ways and Means, Economic Affairs, and Trade and Industry during six terms in Congress. His background also includes leadership roles in Albay's governance, regional development and international finance, including stints with UBS, SBC Warburg, and ING Barings. Marcos’s team described Salceda’s mandate as transforming the PLLO into a genuine policy office and accelerating the administration’s remaining legislative agenda.
