Langrisser Sea of Sword unveils dual-general combat system
Langrisser: Sea of Sword introduces a dual-general, dual-troop hybrid system that lets two heroes fight together, with the option to swap main and secondary roles mid-battle to alter skills and tactics, and synergy from certain pairings unlocking Hero Unity Skills. The battles feature destructible terrain and varied environments such as bridges, walls, dragon islands, and forests, adding siege scenarios and strategic paths that influence outcomes. The game moves beyond linear stages to a continuous, explorable world following the Nameless and Eta through the Sea of Mists, with towns, puzzles, and side stories enriching the campaign outside combat. Players can freely mix troop types from both generals and switch between main and secondary heroes to maximize tactical depth and flexibility. BlackJack Studio has opened pre-registration for Android, iOS, PC, and other platforms and launched a Steam page with a new trailer, signaling a broad rollout and ongoing updates about a new continent. This title marks a significant evolution for the Langrisser series, expanding its core tactical RPG foundation into a more modern, flexible experience since the original 1991 release.
