British prosecutors charged 28-year-old Joshua Kerry, from Rotherham, with the murder of former Conservative MP and Reform UK spokeswoman Ann Widdecombe, who was found dead at her Dartmoor-area home in July. Kerry was first arrested on suspicion of murder on July 11 and was later also arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism, with prosecutors saying there is enough evidence to bring the case to court. He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on a date announced by authorities, as the investigation into possible political or terrorist motives continues. The Crown Prosecution Service has stressed that proceedings are active and urged reporting that does not prejudice the case. Widdecombe, 78, known for her conservative views and television appearances, had a long career as an MP and later held roles with Brexit-related parties.
