Ashley Cooke reveals sophomore album tracklist, Aug 14
Country artist Ashley Cooke has revealed the tracklist for her self-titled sophomore album, due August 14 through Big Loud Records and Back Blocks Music, featuring 15 tracks including the current single Baby Blues and future releases Famous to Frances and Johnny N June. The project is described as a coming‑of‑age, self‑reflection record born from real-time life experiences, blending coastal-country sound with ’90s influences and showcasing Cooke’s sharpened songwriting. A standout marketing moment was Cooke wearing a custom jean jacket embroidered with patches that nod to the album, including gold stars, a wine glass, California and Florida outlines, a hotel key tag, a guitar, a journal and her Gemini symbol. Notable collaborators include producer Dann Huff and co-writers such as Liz Rose, Hillary Lindsey and Lori McKenna, with JP Saxe featuring on one track. The album aggregates both new songs and previously released cuts like The Hell You Are and XS, highlighting a mix of intimate piano ballads and upbeat tracks. Cooke describes the record as honest, messy, and emotionally candid, capturing a singer at a new level of complexity and confidence.
