CIMB Malaysia has finally enabled Apple Pay for its credit card customers, allowing most CIMB Visa and Mastercard credit cards to be added via the CIMB Octo app or directly in Apple Wallet on iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac. Debit cards, Platinum Business and Fuel Tanker cards, and the CIMB Petronas Visa Infinite-i and Platinum-i are not supported. Cards can be added to up to five devices, and users must re-activate the card on Apple Pay if they switch to a new device. To celebrate the rollout, CIMB is offering up to RM118 cashback for five Apple Pay transactions of at least RM50 each through September 14, 2026, with full amounts available only when using both Mastercard and Visa cards. The rollout comes years after Apple Pay first launched in Malaysia and marks CIMB as one of the later local banks to offer the service. Users are guided to add cards via the CIMB Octo app or the Apple Wallet, with authentication via SecureTAC, SMS OTP, or phone verification as needed.
