Lily Allen Documentary Plans Global Prime Video Release
Prime Video has commissioned a feature-length documentary about Lily Allen, directed by Mat Whitecross and produced by Magna Studios and Mint Pictures, with Altitude handling global theatrical and home-entertainment rights; the project is set to premiere globally on Prime Video in 2027. The film will chart Allen's evolution from the 'Queen of MySpace' to a contemporary cultural icon, featuring interviews with people close to her and offering an intimate portrait of her life and career. Off the back of Allen's 2025 West End Girl album, the documentary aims to explore her resilience, reinvention, and candid storytelling that has influenced a generation of female artists. It will trace milestones from her teenage demo days and early label signings through to chart-topping albums, her West End stage work, and high-profile personal life moments including her marriage and divorce from David Harbour. Mat Whitecross, known for Oasis: Supersonic and Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams, also led previous music-doc projects for the team, with Magna Studios and Mint Pictures producing and Altitude distributing theatrically. The project has been described as an unapologetic, raw look at Lily Allen as she redefines her narrative in the spotlight.
