Zaggle approves ₹7.97 crore Unobanc stake
Zaggle Prepaid Ocean Services Limited has approved a strategic investment of up to 79.7 million rupees to acquire a 19.9% stake in Unobanc Private Limited, with board approvals and completion anticipated within about 90 days. The investment, to be funded via cash, is not a related-party transaction, and neither Zaggle’s promoters nor group companies have an interest in Unobanc, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hop Financial Solutions Limited that operates a digital cross-border payments and remittances platform and holds FFMC and RBI Authorised Dealer Category II licenses. Unobanc’s growing turnover and EBITDA in recent years underpin the strategic rationale to broaden Zaggle’s footprint in cross-border payments, foreign exchange, and corporate SaaS-type financial solutions for both retail and corporate clients outside India. Several articles note that the deal forms part of Zaggle’s broader inorganic growth strategy to enhance its fintech services, including banking-as-a-service capabilities and expanded digital payments infrastructure. The transaction is described as an expansion of Zaggle’s financial services ecosystem within India’s fintech landscape, with regulatory and internal processes to be completed before closing. Investors and analysts have highlighted the deal as a step to diversify Zaggle’s revenue streams and deepen its fintech platform through Unobanc’s technology stack.
