ANZ M&C Saatchi Plans Management Buyout
M+C Saatchi ANZ is set to become independently owned after a management buyout backed by Parc, with completion expected by 1 October 2026, exiting the London-listed parent while continuing to operate under existing brands. The buyout is led by Dani Bassil and a senior team, including Simon Wassef, Jeremy Hogg, Anita Zanesco, Remi Couzelas, and Jack Playfair, and aims to enable locally led decision-making and targeted investment in growth, talent, and capabilities such as customer experience, connected communications, AI, and automation. Parc Capital backs the deal, signaling confidence in the Australian and New Zealand market and in an entrepreneur-led agency model. The move follows prior setbacks, including a significant decline in revenue and redundancies, that prompted scrutiny of the ANZ operation, but the transaction is described as not disrupting client work and as maintaining the integrated suite of capabilities. Officials say the ANZ operation will continue to trade under its current brands and leadership, with leadership and brand presence preserved in market. Dame Heather Rabbatts notes the restructuring as simplifying operations and a new chapter for clients in the region.
