ADNOC, OpenAI claim first energy-sector GPT deployment deal

ADNOC has agreed with OpenAI and G42 subsidiary Inception42 to deploy OpenAI’s GPT-based technology across its operations, aiming to connect operational, investment and commercial decision-making and improve efficiency. The UAE-based inference infrastructure will support the rollout, which the companies say makes ADNOC the first energy company to deploy OpenAI’s frontier technology. The deal is part of four agreements between Abu Dhabi entities and OpenAI, including a government initiative to make policies and regulations readable by AI systems for routine compliance assessments, with officials retaining responsibility for final decisions.
