AppleCare+ Price Increase Hits New Mac, iPad Plans
Apple has raised AppleCare+ prices for new Mac and iPad subscribers, increasing monthly rates by 50 cents and annual plans by $5, with existing customers remaining on their current pricing for now. The changes are part of a broader round of price hikes across Apple’s hardware lineup, driven by rising component costs and supply chain pressures. For example, new plans for a 13-inch MacBook Air now cost $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year, with other devices like iPads showing similar adjustments. AppleCare One, the multi-device protection plan, remains unchanged at $19.99 per month for three devices. Apple is also navigating regulatory developments, including approval to launch Apple Intelligence in China using local partners. While the pricing shifts affect new sign-ups, Apple has signaled it will gradually extend increases as existing customers are grandfathered and the company continues to manage costs.
