Children’s Series Follows Cuban Girl’s First U.S. School and Snow
Author Lourdes Fasani has released the Luli children’s book series, drawing on her experiences as a Cuban immigrant to tell stories about a young girl adapting to life in the United States. The books explore family, cultural identity, friendship, gratitude and resilience through experiences including starting at an American school, celebrating Thanksgiving, encountering snow and leaving Cuba. The series aims to help children understand the challenges of cultural transition and the importance of kindness, community support and preserving heritage.
