Iridium Reports Q2 2026 Revenue Beat, Earnings Miss
Iridium Communications reported solid quarterly revenue of about $225 million for Q2 2026, up around 4% year over year, driven by growth in its commercial IoT and service offerings, with service revenue rising to about $161 million. However, earnings lagged expectations, with adjusted EPS around $0.09 and net income near $9.7 million, as higher transaction costs tied to its pending Rocket Lab acquisition weighed on profitability. The six-month results showed revenue of roughly $444 million and net income of about $31 million, reflecting continued top-line strength but margin pressures. The company highlighted a subscriber base of roughly 2.63 million billable customers, marking a 6% year-over-year increase, and CEO Matt Desch cited the strategic value of vertically integrating with Rocket Lab to enhance global connectivity. Analysts noted the divergence between revenue growth and earnings performance, suggesting ongoing cost pressures and acquisition-related expenses, even as overall demand for mission-critical satellite connectivity remains robust.
