Kaizer Chiefs announced the signing of Tanzanian international Adolf Mtasingwa Bitegeko, a 27-year-old defensive midfielder, from Azam FC for an undisclosed fee. Bitegeko, who has captained Azam and earned five Tanzania caps in 2024, becomes the first Tanzanian to join the club, adding to Chiefs’ diverse roster of players from over 20 African countries. The move positions him as Chiefs’ third signing of the transfer window, following acquisitions from Stellenbosch FC and Sekhukhune United, and comes after a stint in Iceland, Norway, and Finland before returning to Tanzania in 2024.
