Beach Boys cancel state fair appearances across U.S.
The Beach Boys have canceled or postponed a string of summer concert dates across multiple state fairs and venues as they announce a planned break to recharge, impacting Indiana’s State Fair opening day, Wisconsin’s State Fair, and the Alaska State Fair among others. Indiana’s Aug. 7 Free Stage show at the State Fair was canceled with a note that the band hopes to return in 2027; VIP refunds are being processed. The Alaska State Fair also postponed the Aug. 31 appearance and other July-August dates, with full refunds issued to ticket buyers. Wisconsin’s Bank Five Nine Main Stage concert on Aug. 16 at the Wisconsin State Fair was canceled, with all ticket holders receiving automatic refunds and no replacement act planned. The organizers note that the cancellations align with the band’s stated goal to take a short break during a period marking the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 60th anniversary of Pet Sounds. In several reports, the group’s official statements emphasize the positive memories of performing for fans and the expectation of returning to touring after this brief hiatus.
