Bell tops Brickyard 400 practice; Toyota sweeps
Christopher Bell led Friday’s Brickyard 400 practice at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, driving a Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota to the fastest lap of 183.512 mph as Toyota swept the top five. The top five were completed by John-Hunter Nemechek, Ty Gibbs, Erik Jones, and Denny Hamlin, underscoring a dominant Toyota performance ahead of Sunday’s race. The session also saw several incidents, including Bubba Wallace scraping the Turn 1 wall and Shane van Gisbergen hitting the wall at corner exit, though both returned to the track. Austin Cindric endured electrical issues that limited his track time, with power losses affecting his run. The practice set up for Busch Light Pole Qualifying on Saturday, as teams prepare for the Brickyard 400 under the looming In-Season Challenge prize scenario.
