Berks Man Charged in Two-Town Child-Luring Case

Robert Ruhe, 66, of Mohnton, Pennsylvania, was charged with three counts of luring a child into a motor vehicle, along with stalking and related offenses, after authorities investigated reports from Shillington and Reading. Police say that on Oct. 14 he approached a 15-year-old girl in Shillington, motioned for her to come to his white SUV and asked whether she wanted to make money. In Reading's Oakbrook neighborhood, he allegedly offered candy to a 16-year-old and her 6-year-old sister if they got into the vehicle; the older girl warned her sister away and called for their mother. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage, identified the vehicle and Ruhe, and he surrendered to authorities. CONTESTED: No factual dispute found. The allegations have not been proven in court.
