Biogen Wins China Approval for At-Home Alzheimer’s Treatment

Biogen and Eisai received approval from China’s National Medical Products Administration for a once-weekly, self-administered subcutaneous version of LEQEMBI for eligible patients with early Alzheimer’s disease. The at-home option could expand access to disease-modifying treatment while reducing reliance on infusion centers, although Biogen faces competition from other Alzheimer’s drug developers and continued dependence on a limited number of major launches. At a Morgan Stanley healthcare conference, Biogen CEO Chris Viehbacher highlighted the company’s broader business reshaping efforts and active pursuit of business development opportunities.
