Black Voters Mobilize Across Three Cities

Black civic and community groups across Louisiana, Florida and Nebraska organized voters to participate in early voting, emphasizing collective visibility and the influence of local elections. In Caddo Parish, the nonpartisan Black Voter Collective sought to turn out thousands of voters and keep a visible line at polling sites, as more than 18,200 residents had already voted by Monday. In Orange County, Equal Ground and partner organizations mobilized Black voters, while faith and civic leaders highlighted ballot measures and local issues. Omaha voters gathered for National Black Men Vote Day, saying their participation could affect affordability, health care, housing, economic opportunity and their families’ futures.
