Browns First-Round DT Mason Graham Week to Week With MCL and Ankle Sprains
Mason Graham sprained his left MCL and left ankle on the same play in the first quarter of the Browns' 27-24 win over Pittsburgh on Oct. 1. He went down on his seventh snap on a 6-yard Jaylen Warren run when his left leg bent awkwardly while he was blocked. He did not return and left Huntington Bank Field on crutches and in a left knee brace. The Browns announced the injuries mid-afternoon Oct. 2, about three hours after coach Todd Monken's Zoom call, saying Graham needs no surgery and will be evaluated week to week. Graham, taken fifth overall in 2025, had four sacks in three games, tied for second in the NFL. Monken called him a tremendously talented, highly intelligent player who plays with unbelievable effort and has worked awfully hard. As a rookie he had half a sack and 49 tackles, seven behind the line. Mike Hall Jr. sprained his right ankle later in the second quarter, was carted off, then returned to sack Aaron Rodgers on third down. Hall played 30 snaps, left in a walking boot, and said the injury was minor. Monken said that is the NFL, players will be lost, and the team will not allow excuses.
