Cardinals, Panthers Open 2026 Training Camps
The Arizona Cardinals opened training camp in Glendale for the 2026 season, with Jacoby Brissett attending and practicing amid ongoing contract talks. Walter Nolen III returned from injury, and four players—Paris Johnson Jr., Josh Sweat, Garrett Williams, and Tip Reiman—began camp on the physically unable to perform list. Veterans James Conner, Trey Benson, and Starling Thomas participated in drills as the team manages early workloads. The Carolina Panthers began camp in Charlotte with Bryce Young and other top players on display, while Nic Scourton was carted off during practice and Tetairoa McMillan returned in better shape after an ankle issue. Carolina flagged several position battles, including LT between Freeling and Rasheed Walker, center between Fortner and Hecht, and wide receiver roles beyond the top two, with Nick Scott at free safety and Tre’von Moehrig in the defense. Both teams emphasized careful injury management as rookies and veterans ramp up for what shapes up as a pivotal season.
