Bandhan Bank Q1 profit rises to ₹502 crore
Bandhan Bank posted a strong Q1 FY27, with standalone net profit rising about 35% to around ₹502 crore as lower credit provisions and higher net interest income supported earnings. Net interest income climbed about 6% YoY to ₹2,921 crore, while provisions fell to roughly ₹683 crore from ₹1,147 crore a year earlier, driving the profit surge. Asset quality improved, with GNPA at 3.15% and NNPA at 0.93% sequentially, and gross advances grew about 16.4% YoY, outpacing deposits. The bank maintained a steady net interest margin of 6.2% and signaled an ongoing easing of credit costs as a key earnings driver. A leadership transition is underway, with Vinay Jain appointed as interim CFO effective September 26, 2026. Overall, Bandhan Bank’s Q1 performance reflects an improving liability-asset mix, lower provisioning costs, and stable core profitability.
