Cockroach Box Incident Temporarily Closes Toledo Library

A patron at Toledo’s Kent Branch Library allegedly threw a box of cockroaches at a staff member after being asked to take belongings outside because roaches were crawling on them. The insects scattered inside, prompting a 911 call, evacuation and cancellation of programming; the branch closed for cleanup and professional treatment, then reopened the next day. No injuries were reported, and it remains unclear whether anyone will face charges.
