Comcast Plans Significant Job Cuts in Restructuring
Comcast is planning significant job cuts across its cable-TV, broadband and wireless operations ahead of the planned 2027 separation of NBCUniversal and Sky. Bloomberg and Reuters reported the plan on 21 October 2026. Announcements could come in the coming weeks. The company has not disclosed how many jobs will be affected. It had about 179,000 full- and part-time employees as of 31 December 2025. Its share price declined about 21 percent in 2026. Jason Armstrong announced a cost-restructuring plan on 9 September at the Goldman Sachs Technology and Media Conference. Brian Roberts has reorganized senior leadership, including promoting Steve Croney to lead the broadband and wireless business. The company is offering five-year internet price guarantees and a free wireless line for one year while it loses cable customers to streaming and faces fiber and fixed-wireless broadband competition. Earnings are scheduled for 22 October 2026.
