Coronato's Four Points Lead Flames to 6-2 Win
Matt Coronato recorded a career-high four points with one goal and three assists as the Calgary Flames beat the Seattle Kraken 6-2 on Friday, extending Calgary's home winning streak to five. The Flames never trailed and went 2-for-2 on the power play, improving to 9-for-20 over their last seven games. Joel Farabee added a goal and two assists; Morgan Frost and Matvei Gridin each had a goal and an assist; Aydar Suniev and Ryan Strome also scored. With the score tied 1-1 in the second period, Suniev one-timed a cross-ice pass from Frost under the crossbar for his fourth goal of the season, giving Calgary a lead it did not relinquish. Philipp Grubauer was pulled after allowing four goals on 14 shots. Freddy Gaudreau scored his team-leading seventh goal and Mackie Samoskevich also scored for Seattle, which had beaten Calgary 6-1 twice in the season's opening week. Mikael Backlund's assist moved him into sole possession of fifth place on Calgary's all-time scoring list. Commenter Chris Dalton wrote: "Coronato's four points were huge, and going 2 for 2 on the power play kept the Flames in control all night." No factual dispute found.
