MAGA Inc War Chest Tops $400 Million Ahead of Midterms
MAGA Inc., the main fundraising group backing Donald Trump, has built a war chest of more than $400 million, up from about $300 million at the start of the year, positioning Republicans to defend slim congressional majorities in the upcoming midterms. In June, the PAC attracted high-profile donors including NASA administrator Jared Isaacman ($1 million) and billionaires Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss ($10 million each), who reportedly liquidated bitcoin to fund their contributions. MAGA Inc previously spent nearly $377 million in the 2024 cycle to back Trump’s bid and Republican candidates, and it now dwarfs the Republican National Committee’s resources. Relative to other PACs, MAGA Inc has amassed more cash on hand than any non-presidential election-year PAC, remaining a dominant fundraising force despite ongoing political headwinds. While the money is substantial, Trump’s approval ratings have faced pressure amid issues such as the U.S.-Israel war and high energy prices, underscoring that fundraising alone cannot guarantee electoral success. MAGA Inc has spent little in June compared with its enormous cash reserves, highlighting a strategy of stockpiling resources for future midterm contests.
