Lil Durk Acquitted on All Murder-for-Hire Charges

A federal jury acquitted Chicago rapper Lil Durk, born Durk Banks, on all five charges tied to an alleged murder-for-hire and stalking plot targeting Atlanta rapper Quando Rondo. Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, was killed in a 2022 ambush near Los Angeles, which prosecutors said was retaliation for the 2020 killing of Durk’s close friend King Von. Prosecutors argued that Durk financed and helped organize the attack, while the defense blamed former associate Kavon Grant and challenged testimony from cooperating witnesses. Co-defendants Deandre Wilson and David Lindsay were convicted of stalking-related charges but acquitted of the remaining allegations. Durk remains in federal custody pending a separate racketeering trial accusing him of operating his Only the Family label as a violent gang, scheduled to begin Oct. 5. Kanye West, who had previously supported Durk, publicly celebrated the acquittal on X.
