Natalie Portman Describes Wonder and Joy After Third Child Birth
Natalie Portman confirmed in a Harper's Bazaar November interview the birth of her third child, her first with music producer Tanguy Destable, 46. The baby was born. Portman, 45, has two older children, Aleph, 15, and Amalia, nine, with Benjamin Millepied; they separated in 2023 and finalized divorce in 2024. She said she is "full of wonder and joy at this magical little human" and that the birth "gives me a whole new attention to my big kids too." On love she said: "The most important thing is love. And I'm not embarrassed to say it," calling kindness, love, and laughter "all that matters" at her age. She recalled being "followed by 20 men every day" when pregnant in New York and L.A., versus being "almost completely left alone" in France. She noted wanting to stay respectful of those who struggle to conceive, calling pregnancy "a beautiful, joyous thing" that is "also not an easy thing." She also reflected on early criticism of The Professional and Star Wars. The interview pairs with a November cover shoot and her film The Gallerist, which premiered at Sundance in January and releases next month.
