Etihad Airways broadens its global network through Ghana-based Africa World Airlines, signing a memorandum of understanding to enable codeshare, interline, cargo and loyalty collaborations with the framework taking effect in July 2026 and paving the way for the Abu Dhabi–Accra service launch in 2027. In Nigeria, Etihad expands connectivity with Air Peace via an interline agreement enabling single-ticket journeys to about 20 destinations across West and Central Africa, with booking on Etihad’s site once implemented. A Nigerian–West Africa expansion mirrors the same 20-destination interline arrangement, emphasizing easier travel beyond Lagos and Accra and stronger Abu Dhabi gateways. Separately, Air India and Saudia are strengthening their alliance to expand codeshare networks, enhance loyalty benefits, and deepen cooperation across operations and future partnerships between India and Saudi Arabia. In parallel, Etihad has signed with the Abra Group (Avianca, GOL and Wamos Air) to create a Latin America–Abu Dhabi bridge with expanded codeshares, reciprocal loyalty and potential ACMI/aircraft leasing, subject to regulatory and commercial approvals. Taken together, the deals push toward stitching together Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India and Latin America into a more connected, single-ticket travel ecosystem centered on Etihad’s Abu Dhabi hub.
