Toronto police say a woman was shot dead in Etobicoke early Friday, near Humberwood Boulevard and Rexdale Boulevard. Officers responded to reports of a gunshot around 7:20 to 7:30 a.m. and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect fled the scene and police have not released a description. The homicide unit is leading the investigation and the Humberwood area is closed to traffic. Authorities have not released the victim's age or any details about what led to the shooting. Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
