FinWise Bancorp completes Tallied acquisition, owns card tech stack
FinWise Bancorp announced the acquisition of Tallied Technologies to own its credit card technology stack end-to-end, enhancing co-branded card programs and fintech capabilities. The Tallied platform is cloud-native, SOC2 certified, and API-first, spanning from application and issuance to processing, rewards, fraud scoring, and compliance, with FinWise fielding a fully integrated card tech stack. The deal, funded with cash on hand, is not expected to materially affect FinWise's capital ratios, and the company notes a smooth transition with no service interruptions for cardholders. Integration and transition costs are projected to total about $4 million over the next year, higher in the next two quarters before tapering as integration progresses. FinWise expects to capture expanded revenue by retaining fees, interchange, and interest economics on programs previously shared with a third-party manager, while the Tallied team joins to accelerate product development and maintain continuity.
