FDIG Short Interest Surges 54,816% in July
July saw a wave of unusual short-interest spikes across a mix of small-cap stocks and ETFs. Global Fashion Group GLFGF surged to 10,388 shares short as of July 15, a 37,000% jump, with a very tight short-interest ratio around 0.3 days. Fidelity Crypto Industry and Digital Payments ETF FDIG also posted a dramatic rise to 53,818 shares short, about 0.9% of float, with a days-to-cover near 1.6. Nicholas Global Equity and Income ETF GIAX reported a soaring short interest of 138,603 shares, a 29,141.1% increase, roughly 2.0% of shares sold short and a days-to-cover of 1.0. Salvatore Ferragamo S.p.A. SFRGY likewise showed a sharp uptick to 582 short shares, a 58,100% increase, with essentially no broader short exposure reported. In at least two articles, GIAX’s data are echoed, underscoring a broader pattern of pronounced short-interest movements across diverse market segments in July.
