Florida Man Convicted in $769K Tiffany Jewelry Heist

A Florida jury convicted Jaythan Gilder of robbery and grand theft for stealing more than $760,000 in jewelry from a Tiffany & Co. store at Orlando’s Mall at Millenia in February 2025. Prosecutors said he posed as a representative for an Orlando Magic player, grabbed the jewelry, and used force against a store employee while escaping. After his arrest, Gilder swallowed the stolen earrings in an attempt to hide them. Authorities monitored him for nearly two weeks before recovering the jewelry. He is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 7. No contested claims appear in the record. Sentencing remains the next step.
