Ford is issuing a global recall of 565,691 Bronco and Bronco Raptor models from 2021–2026 due to a wiring-harness defect in the engine compartment that can short-circuit and ignite a fire. The recall references NHTSA campaign 26V468 and Ford internal number 26S55, with repairs including protective covers and abrasion tape installed free of charge; owners will be notified starting August 24, 2026. Ford’s Critical Concern Review Group found that Raptors’ stiffer, more aggressive suspension causes greater movement of the wiring harness, increasing wear compared to base Broncos; 15 fire incidents were identified (seven Raptors, eight base Broncos) across vehicles investigated since 2024. Ford reports no crashes or injuries linked to the issue to date. Beyond the initial fix, all Broncos built after June 28 will receive enhanced protective covering on the wiring harness.
