Hyundai Mobis Posts Near-Trillion Won Q2 Profit
Hyundai Mobis reported a strong second quarter with sales of 16.3247 trillion won, operating profit of 975.2 billion won, and net profit of 1.0602 trillion won, up 2.4%, 12.1%, and 13.5% year-on-year respectively. For the first half, sales reached 31.8852 trillion won and operating profit 1.7778 trillion won, rising 3.9% and 8.0% from a year earlier, as a better product mix and profitability initiatives paid off. The gains were driven by high-value automotive electronics components and a solid after-sales parts business, offsetting some weakness in the electrification segment and persistent memory semiconductor-cost pressures. The company invested 950.8 billion won in R&D in the first half, about 44% of its annual plan of 2.1631 trillion won, and secured $740 million in orders from global automakers. Hyundai Mobis also highlighted ongoing efforts to diversify its global customer base and to accelerate future mobility technologies, alongside plans to continue investments and expand high-value component supply. In addition, the company announced an interim dividend of 1,500 won per share and indicated plans to retire treasury shares bought back earlier this year, signaling a continued focus on shareholder returns.
