Marriott, Catalonia Plan All-Inclusive Resorts in Jamaica and Tanzania
Marriott International and Catalonia Hotels & Resorts have signed dual agreements to develop two all-inclusive resorts, bringing the Marriott Hotels brand to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and an Autograph Collection all-inclusive resort to Zanzibar, Tanzania. The Montego Bay property will convert the existing Catalonia Montego Bay and is planned to open in 2028 with 522 rooms, 13 dining venues, three pools, a spa, fitness facilities, and extensive meeting space. The Zanzibar project is a new-build Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort planned to open in 2027, featuring multiple pools, a theater, a seawater pool on an oceanfront jetty, a wellness-focused guest experience, and a diversified restaurant program. Together, these ventures expand Marriott’s all-inclusive footprint in the Caribbean and Africa, leveraging Catalonia’s development capabilities. The deals bring the total new rooms across both properties to 793 and reflect Marriott’s broader push to offer premium resort experiences under distinct Marriott brands.
