Marriott Catalonia plans all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica, Tanzania
Marriott International is expanding its all-inclusive portfolio in Caribbean and African destinations through a partnership with Catalonia Hotels & Resorts, launching a Marriott Hotels All-Inclusive Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and an Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort in Zanzibar, Tanzania. The Montego Bay project is a 522-room beachfront development designed to include extensive dining, leisure, and meeting facilities and is slated to open in 2028 after converting the former Catalonia property. The Zanzibar project, planned as an Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort, is expected to open in 2027 and will emphasize wellness and distinctive design. Marriott emphasizes that these agreements strengthen its all-inclusive strategy and leverage collaborations with experienced owners to maximize value in coveted markets. The moves underscore a broader industry shift toward curated, wellness-oriented, and culturally rich all-inclusive experiences in high-demand destinations like Jamaica and Tanzania.
