Meta launches Seller app for Facebook Marketplace
Meta has launched a dedicated Seller app for Facebook Marketplace aimed at power sellers, featuring AI-assisted listing creation, bulk uploading, a unified inbox, and a performance dashboard to track views, messages, and sales. The app is live in the US for users 18 and older, initially on iOS with Android testing and a web version in progress. Meta touts Marketplace’s scale to support these tools, noting hundreds of millions of items listed monthly and a push to keep sellers from migrating to rivals through more streamlined selling workflows. Alongside Seller, Meta introduced a broader set of updates, including Facebook Verified badges, a full-screen video redesign, and additional AI-assisted capabilities across listing creation and content strategy. Reporters also point out that despite aggressive expansion, the Seller app does not integrate cryptocurrency payments or blockchain features. The rollout has been described across multiple outlets as part of Meta’s strategy to monetize and modernize Facebook’s commerce infrastructure while maintaining user engagement on the core platform.
