Nashville is expanding Beaman Park by approximately 300 acres, a deal that closed July 10 with a purchase price around $3.2 million and will be transferred from The Conservation Fund to Metro Nashville Parks for permanent ownership. The funding package includes $3.2 million from The Conservation Fund, $1 million from Metro Nashville, $1 million from the Tennessee Heritage Conservation Trust Fund, and $1 million from the Beaman Family Fund, underscoring broad philanthropic and public support. City leaders, including Mayor Freddie O’Connell, frame the forest expansion as critical infrastructure that cools summers, slows floodwater, filters streams, and protects air quality, while preserving tree canopy, wildlife habitat, and outdoor recreation opportunities. The deal proceeds within a history of Beaman Park’s growth and places the new acreage adjacent to the existing park along Bull Run Road, significantly increasing access to nature for Nashville residents.
