Multi-story Virginia City Highlands home damaged; two injured
A series of weekend structure fires across several states caused property damage but few injuries. In Virginia City Highlands, a multi-story home fire was contained with two residents evaluated for burn injuries and smoke inhalation, a minor firefighter injury reported, and the cause not yet released as overhaul work continues. In San Antonio’s West Side, a small house fire is under control with no injuries and investigators working to determine the cause. Ithaca experienced a rapid exterior attack on a North Plain Street home after heavy flames, with seven-hour street closures and an ongoing investigation, though no occupants were found inside. Ingleside-area fire containment saved a home after fire spread to an exterior wall in the second-floor bedroom, with no injuries and initial actions aiding a quick knockdown using limited water due to lack of hydrants. Syracuse firefighters rapidly contained a Beattie Street house fire, which was ruled accidental and not linked to occupants during renovations, with no injuries and overhaul operations continuing.
