Ghee prices are rising by a little over 2% in BAMUL’s updates and roughly 2.14% in KMF’s revisions, pushing the per‑litre cost to about Rs 715; butter meanwhile is climbing by about 8% to 10%, with 1 kg of butter priced around Rs 660 in some reports. The price hikes come as dairy cooperatives contend with higher milk procurement and processing costs, and in KMF’s case, a shortage of milk fat driven by drought‑like conditions in Maharashtra and strong demand. Retail configurations across sachets, PET jars, tins, and 500 g to 1 L packs have been adjusted, alongside bulk 15 kg tins and various butter packaging, reflecting both operational pressures and brand‑level pricing strategies. Industry observers note the hikes are intended to protect margins amid rising input costs, even as hoteliers and sweet manufacturers react to tighter supply and sustained demand for Nandini products.
