Ohio Bars Bettor After Alleged Jays Manager Threats

Ohio regulators barred Thornville resident Blake Morgan from Ohio’s legal sports betting market and gaming facilities after he allegedly made violent threats against Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider during a call to Major League Baseball on the night of a 2025 World Series game. Records describe a nearly 14-minute call in which the caller accused Schneider of influencing the game for gambling purposes and threatened to attack him. Morgan denied making the threats and said he appealed the commission’s allegations; MLB provided evidence to the commission, which said threats against sports participants tied to wagering would not be tolerated.
