Report: iPhone 18 Pro Sales Rise 3.1% Globally
Counterpoint Research reported on October 27, 2026 that global sales of Apple's iPhone 18 Pro series rose 3.1 percent in the first three weeks after the September 2026 launch, exceeding the iPhone 17 Pro series over the same period. China sales grew 29 percent year over year, which the report attributed to improved early supply compared with last year and higher prices on competing Chinese Android flagships. Japan sales fell 27 percent year over year. The iPhone 18 Pro Max made up 56 percent of series sales, down from 57 percent a year earlier, as emerging markets including India and Southeast Asia showed stronger demand for the standard Pro model. Shattered.io reported that U.S. sales fell 4 percent year over year, while Freepress/IANS described a U.S. decline without stating a percentage. Freepress/IANS said higher prices weighed on demand in the United States and Japan and that U.S. consumers had not viewed the models as offering significant feature or design improvements. Sujeong Lim, associate director at Counterpoint Research, said whether China's outperformance reflects durable demand or front-loaded buying will become clearer in the coming weeks. Research director Tarun Pathak said longer smartphone replacement cycles, memory-related price increases, and macroeconomic uncertainty were weighing on upgrades. Pre-bookings for the iPhone Duo, scheduled for Week 43, exceed current supply, according to the report.
