Seeing Machines has secured a new Driver & Occupant Monitoring System program with a European automotive manufacturer through an existing Tier 1 supplier, with the system to be integrated into a rear-view mirror across future vehicle platforms and production set to begin in 2028. The deal is expected to generate about US$5 million in lifetime revenue and strengthens the company’s automotive pipeline as EU driver monitoring regulations take effect, accelerating demand for camera-based in-cabin safety. The mirror-based, scalable architecture aims to reduce engineering complexity and cost for OEMs while enabling rapid deployment across multiple lines, in line with the industry’s shift toward intelligent safety systems. The announcements underscore Seeing Machines’ leadership in interior sensing, supported by regulatory-driven demand and ongoing investment in its automotive strategy, even as the company continues to report losses. CEO Paul McGlone highlighted the market’s confidence in the company’s technology and the efficiency of the mirror integration approach in scaling across platforms.
