Beaver Canyon SR-153 Closure; DOT Priorities I-15

State Route 153 through Beaver Canyon is closed indefinitely after flash floods and debris flows destroyed multiple road sections, with the worst damage between mileposts 7.5 and 10.5 and about half of the roadway near milepost 14 washed into the river. UDOT is assessing the damage from air and ground and developing a repair plan, warning that neither side of the mountain is safe and that further storms could worsen conditions due to the Cottonwood Fire burn scar.
