Cathay Pacific Sees 1H Profit Jump to HK$6.5B
Cathay Pacific forecasts first-half profit of HK$6-6.5 billion, up from HK$3.7 billion a year earlier, aided by strong passenger and cargo demand and a HK$1.4 billion gain from the dilution of its Air China stake. Despite elevated fuel costs from Middle East tensions, the carrier benefited from rerouted travel, robust cargo including AI and pharmaceutical shipments, and fuel hedging and surcharges to cushion margins.
