Mkhwanazi, Witness K Granted R5,000 Bail

Suspended EMPD deputy chief Julius Mkhwanazi and his co-accused, Witness K, were granted R5,000 bail each in connection with the alleged 2023 theft of precious stones worth about R15 million, with their cases adjourned to 25 August. The charges include conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery with aggravating circumstances and fraud, and Witness K also testified at the Madlanga Commission about the planning of the heist, while Mkhwanazi faces other unrelated legal matters.
