629 of 1,191 NH Projects Delayed Across India

About 629 of 1,191 National Highway projects in India have missed their original completion deadlines, according to Rajya Sabha data, with 103 contractors penalised for substandard work between 2023-24 and 2025-26. The government is implementing a phased Advanced Traffic Management System rollout across 52,647 km of highways and using AI and e-DAR data to identify 6,358 black corridors for targeted safety improvements.
