Death toll in Sikkim NHPC tunnel reaches eight

A tragic collapse at the NHPC Teesta Stage VI tunnel in Namchi, Sikkim has left seven to eight workers dead with many still trapped as rescue teams from NDRF, SDRF, SSDMA and local agencies press on. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Home Minister Amit Shah, assured full Centre assistance and supervision of rescue and relief efforts, while Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang expressed gratitude and coordinated with the Centre.
