Ireland plans funding for all SIM applicants

All applicants have been accepted into the 2026 Straw Incorporation Measure, despite applications surpassing the €10 million budget, with over 73,000 hectares submitted and the minister promising to secure extra funding so no eligible farmer is left out. Acceptance letters will be issued soon, farmers may withdraw if needed, and the scheme is touted for both financial support to tillage farmers and its environmental benefits.
